CONNECTING WITH PURPOSE
The greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, strength and mind. The second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself. One way we love is in serving others. You can serve others at church, in our local community and around the world. Serving is also a way we become more like Jesus. It’s one part of our spiritual development pathway. SERVE AT CHURCH
You can serve on the worship team, the hospitality team, the kids ministry team, the production team, the roadie team – all on Sunday mornings. During the week you could provide child care during a small group, lead a small group or volunteer at Youth Group.
Love kids, or just love playing? The kids ministry team helps provide a safe and fun place for kids to connect with Jesus.
Enjoy the details? We always need help planning for Sunday school, recruiting volunteers or following up with new visitors.
The hospitality team helps create a welcoming environment for people to connect with Jesus on Sunday mornings. You can serve behind the scenes getting coffee and communion ready, or you can be a friendly face as someone enters the door.
Play an instrument? The worship team leads us in musical worship every Sunday and youth group enjoys music on Wednesday nights as well.
SERVE IN OUR COMMUNITY
Serving in our community is one way that we share the love of God with the broader Mankato region! We partner with local non-profits who are already serving in many different ways.
For instance, we partner with MY Place to help children reach their full potential.
We partner with the South Central Minnesota Food Recovery Program to reclaim food and help people struggling with food insecurities.
We partner with the Connections Emergency Shelter to help people struggling with housing.
SERVE GLOBALLY
God also invites us into making things right in our broken world. But how? We can use our money. You give financially to organizations, sponsor a child or fund micro-loans that help people living on the margins of our world. You can also serve by sponsoring a child and regularly corresponding with them. You can run with Team World Vision, providing clean water for people. We also have short-term mission trips available during the year.
