Dual Citizens: Following Jesus in an Election Season

In Philippians, Paul says our citizenship is in heaven. What does that mean when we’re about to vote? Some say Christians should step back from politics entirely. Others engage, but let a party claim the loyalty that belongs to God alone. Paul, writing to citizens of a proud Roman colony, offers a third way: live as citizens worthy of the gospel, and let Jesus shape, challenge, and sometimes correct every political commitment, left or right. Together we’ll ask what our political habits are forming in us and how the church’s own practices can reshape us.
